I just saw 500 Days of Summer and loved it. I went online to see if I could get a picture of her hair in the wedding scene so I could try to replicate it and I came across this nugget of fun!

How cute is this improv interview? I was laughing the whole time!

We received our State Board Applications in leu of a Certificate at our Graduation Ceremony. They were all labeled and ready for our $125 contribution to the State of California (at least that's how I see it).

I got all dressed up for work because today is a very special day to drop the application off at our local Post Office. I'm one step closer to getting my license!!!

Drive up, park, walk to the door and realize that they have changed their hours from 9:00am to 10:00am. Darn, but it's okay. I'm just a little bit late for work and I can still drop it off at our Front Desk Mail Drop!

The guy at the Front desk was kind in taking my picture dropping off my application. He must have thought I was a little looney. I mean, who does that? I just wanted to document my journey!

So, it's off in the mail. Hope I get my date soon! I'll keep you posted!

Roqulette Anyone?

Just like most folks, I had no clue what a Roqulette was. Well, how can you go wrong with a half wheel of expensive cheese, an assortment of goodies to dip into the cheese and great friends to share it with?

A Very Merry Christmas

It feels like an eternity since I've been on here!

So much has happened.

I graduated Cosmetology school

Had a wonderful time with my mom and brother

Had a fun Ugly Christmas Sweater Party (I'll post pics soon, promise)

Shared time with the future husband's family over Christmas

Stopped eating everything in front of me & now trying to work off the um, "winter weight"

Enjoying my free evenings with Ted

I hope everyone had a blessed and fruitful Holiday season. Now on to 2010... Hope the economy will pick up soon and let all of us get our lives back to normal :)

Lack of Postings...

Work has been totally nuts. Haven't even had the time to think of a blog post for the last week or so!!! I don't like it one bit!

Well, my family is due to arrive tonight at 11:30pm. They aren't able to stay through the holidays but it's wonderful to get to see them around Christmas! My Graduation is this Friday. It's so weird. I've been counting down this Graduation for two years now and now that it's here, I'm not as excited as I thought I'd be. It's almost sad that this long chapter is now finished and I have to move on, find a job and probably not talk to most of the girls I spent two years of my life with. It's bitter sweet. I'm very proud of myself for actually finishing. There were plenty of times that I just wanted out but some how, some way I have made it to the bitter end! And that sure does feel good!

We've got lots of fun stuff coming up... I'll keep you posted!

A Loss...

during the holidays seems to affect me more so than any other time of the year. Early this morning, Ted's Grandpa passed away. I hope it was a peaceful pass into heaven! He suffered immensely from emphysema and lung cancer due to smoking his whole life. He was in so much pain and now that pain has been taken away. But it still is hard to imagine life without him. I didn't know him as well as I would have liked but the loss is still difficult and my heart goes out to family and friends who are affected by his loss.

Grandparents are such blessings, aren't they! I feel so blessed to still have my two Grandmothers and one Great-Grandmother. And Ted's two Grandmothers.

Tell your Grandparents that you love them!

Christmas music is in every store, on every station and that's okay with me! I love Chirstmas music. But I especially LOVE Sufjan Stevens version of classics.

{recipe} Easy Chocolate Silk Pie

This is one of the easiest pies you can make for the holiday season!

Ingredients:

1 package Instant Chocolate Pudding

1 container Cool Whip

1 premade Pie Crust

1 1/2 C Cold Milk

Chocolate bar or Cocoa powder (optional)

Directions:

Whisk pudding mix with milk for 2 minutes. Spoon half into pie crust.

Mix 1 C Cool Whip into remaining pudding mix. Spoon into pie crust.

Top with remaining Cool Whip. Shave Chocoalte on top or dust with cocoa.

Refrigerate for at least 3 hours to set.
